Tutor Spotlight: Jen Griffiths

October 5, 2023by atadmin

This month’s tutor spotlight is on Jen Griffiths, an English specialist tutor for students at 11+, 13+ and GCSE level.

Here Jen tells us a little bit about herself and her professional background.

“Having completed a Masters in English Literature at the University of Newcastle I decided to pursue a career where I could draw on my passion for, and expertise in the subject by training to be a teacher.

Once qualified, I worked at an international secondary school on the continent where I was responsible for A-Level English. When I moved back to the U.K., I continued teaching English in a variety of schools alongside exam marking and tutoring.

I have tutored students from a wide range of schools, and have helped students prepare for entrance exams to some of the most academic and prestigious schools in England. As well as 11+, common entrance and 13+ preparation, I also tutor students in preparation for their GCSEs.

I love helping students and seeing them develop – both academically and in confidence – whilst sharing my passion for my subject.

Earlier this year I was awarded a Doctorate in Education from the University of Sheffield (a Russell Group University); I relished having the opportunity to combine my interest in research with my love for teaching.”
