For the 11+ exams we provide tutoring and mentoring support for the English components of the exam. Our tutors plan lessons around each child’s needs and interests. Prior to starting any lesson with us, we will carry out a written assessment in order to fully understand your child’s strengths and areas for development. This will give you a clear picture of the support that is needed and will allow the tutor to ensure a programme of tutoring that is bespoke to your child. We will be open and honest with you at every step of the process; we want our tutoring programme to be transparent and guided by what is best for your child.
Our tutors have amassed decades’ worth of experience in tutoring children for the rigorous 11+ exams and have honed their skills to ensure every child is given a bespoke, tailored programme of learning to follow.
By focusing on comprehension skills, creative writing, vocabulary acquisition and grammar and punctuation, we aim to cover all areas needed in the 11+ exams.
With written feedback after every lesson, monthly reports and regular communication with your child’s tutor, we aim to support your child every step of the way.

COURSESWorkshops
After each workshop, children will be given homework to complete at home. This will then be marked by the teacher and feedback will be shared so children understand next steps. At the end of each four week block of learning, parents will receive detailed written feedback on their child’s progress. This is one of the cornerstones of Aster Tuition’s methodology so that parents are included in their child’s learning and every element of our teaching process is transparent.
Children will also take home a pack of resources to continue practising key skills once the workshops have finished.
Class sIze: We regularly run workshops which are for a maximum of four children, which makes our teacher/student ratio one of the highest of its kind.
Workshop length: Each workshop is run over four consecutive weeks and will cover the main areas needed for this course. Each four week workshop is based around a different topic.
